Sources say 27-year-old Jennifer Vojinovic Williams drove the getaway car after Devonte Williams, 17, and Sean Williams, 33, shot 16-year-old Andre Vasquez to death and critically wounded his mother, Krystal Hethcoat, in their Northwest Side home at 3410 North Lawndale Tuesday morning.
Information obtained through a Chicago News Report investigation, indicates Jennifer Vojinovic may have been plotting the Avondale shootings since September.
In a September 27, 2011 email, Vojinovic seemed to be shopping for a hit man to do her (alleged) dirty work.
Vojinovic told a female friend, "I wish u could use your perfect aim on someone for me."
The friend did not respond to that particular statement... at least not online.
Although there is no way of knowing what Vojinovic's comment really meant, in light of what happened, her remarks seem pretty ominous.
Back in August, Vojinovic's grandfather died of cancer; that same month, her son, barely a year-old, was also facing health problems.
Chicago News Report uncovered several communications where Vojinovic expressed extreme dissatisfaction with people she referred to as "fakes and backstabbers". She was also having money issues.
CNR reached out to Vojinovic's friends and family members. So far, there has been no response.
Using the term "mastermind" to describe someone involved in this crime is something of an exaggeration. Brain dead is more like it, a real flatliner. Goldfish would probably score higher on an intelligence test.

ReplyDeleteI love that this site investigates stories the way that no other news sources in Chicago will. Remember the honor roll student that got shot by cops for having a gun a while back? His FB picture was used by all the media outlets, only the gang signs he was flashing were cropped out. If I remember correctly, the real picture, in all of its gang banging glory, was posted here. This is why one million visitors have come to this site and will continue to come.

ReplyDeleteTo successfully sue for libel (not liable, as you so intelligently put it), there has to be damages.
Where are the damages? The boy is dead, the mom is about to be to. Even if she pulls through, she literally had nothing to lose - unemployed, so no concern that this article may have cost her her job. As far as I know, she's not a politician or public figure, so she has no public reputation or image that has to be upheld. Finally, the CNR guy has more than covered his bases by pointing out that, for example, this attack was "alleged" to have drug and or gang ties. Also, he could argue that he is printing his opinion (ie, opinion that the mom was gang involved), as opposed to stating a fact (for example, the son died & mom survived, at least at first).
Slander - well, that doesn't even apply here.
And to anon @ 1256 - I've been reading this blog for a few months now, and as far as I can tell, it is just that - a blog that is done by one guy, no publishers, editors, etc. And blogs are treated very differently than traditional news outlets in terms of "liable."

I was in complete shock when reading this story a few days ago. You know that the criminals were BRAINDEAD since this allegedly took place at 8:30am on a school day, across the street from an Elementary school where there are tons and tons of people around. ReplyDeleteI was on call at the hospital when the mother and her child came in. I began praying for them the moment they came in. The lord saw it best to take Andre and for the mother his plans and only his plans (gods will) will be carried out. Now one thing is true is that we have to be careful as mothers because the lord put us on this earth to be co-advocates for our children. This means to love,protect,teach and direct your child in the way that they should go. We often imitate our parents behaviours and this is called a generational curse. Now I say all of this to say that god gives us free will to make the choices that we want, but this is not the right thing to do. Especially with children involved. Whatever type of life that Krystal has lead she will have regrets. I just pray that she knows now to not befriend just anyone and to give her daughter a chance at a life that will be somewhat rewarding. I was in the lobby one day and immediately knew who her daughter was. She so pretty and looks just like her mom. Again, I pray that the lords will is done in their lives as well as the families. And I want to say to the daughter to ask god to remove the people out of you and your moms life that he does not want to be there and remember not to fight that change.
