Around 3:02 a.m., a 7-Eleven employee at 1055 West Bryn Mawr Avenue, reported a man for making threats.
According to the complainant, the suspect had his hand in his pocket and was possibly armed with a gun.
When police arrived at the Edgewater neighborhood store, they chased the man into a nearby apartment building at 5527 North Kenmore Avenue.
Officers were unable to get inside, because the entrance was locked.
The suspect was described as a male black wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
Because this incident had a familiar ring to it, I checked my archives for similar occurrences at the same location.
Guess what I found?

On January, 16, 2011, the suspect returned, but fled the scene when the clerk recognized him and called police. Click HERE to read the details.
I’m no Garry McCarthy, but I think I just solved three crimes with one stone.
I nominate Timothy for Chief of Police:)
ReplyDeleteWhenever I'm Bryn Mawr, I've noticed some pretty shady looking characters hanging around there. Oops, guess "shady" isn't "PC"...oh well!
Oh, no! (Hold me closer) tiny dancer... I mean the mayor and I probably wouldn't get along.
ReplyDeleteThe Peterson bus only runs two times an hour as far as I can tell, it's a damn shame when you get off the train you get harassed for twenty minutes or so by a cavalcade of shady characters
ReplyDeleteI checked out a nice condo to rent right about there. After checking out the neighborhood, getting a feel it, over a couple of days (i.e. daylight). No thanks!
ReplyDeleteA friend just moved to Winthrop north of Bryn Mawr. After leaving there after dusk one night, I won't be visiting again. Sorry.
It's a shame, right near your lakefront.
