Boystown: 1 arrested after man attacked, robbed on Buckingham Place


Police officers scored another arrest after two offenders attacked and robbed a man in Chicago’s Boystown, Lakeview neighborhood.

Around 4:47 a.m., a victim, described as a male white, was attacked by two black male suspects at 744 West Buckingham Place, near Buckingham and Halsted Street, said police.

At 4:50 a.m., an officer on foot, chased one suspect eastbound on Buckingham.

A minute later, at 4:51 a.m., the offender was in custody at 732 West Buckingham Place.

The second offender, who was described a skinny male black, fled the scene westbound on Buckingham.

Authorities said the second thief is still at large.

Police returned the victim’s stolen property.

Information regarding the robbery victim’s condition was not disclosed.

  1. Why are black males so prone to violence? For many years I always thought they were misunderstood "urban youths". I guess I was wrong. I recently went back to see the house I grew up in on 64th & Ashland. Boy has the neighborhood changed! There were vagrants everywhere & the litter was terrible.

  2. Why do you think people cringe at the thought of living near section 8 recipients? Most poor people are poor for a reason! And it has nothing to do with racism or lack of opportunity.
