A male complainant said two unknown black men stopped him on the street and said, "Why are you always calling the cops on us?"
One suspect was wearing a white pants and a white jacket with red and blue accents.
The second suspect was wearing a blue sweater.
Officers toured the area, but the inquisitive men were nowhere to be found.
At 2:39 a.m., two black men matching the above description, were involved in an attempted robbery in the area, said police.
One of the offenders struck a victim in the face with an unidentified object, said police.
Investigators said one suspect had a gun and the other suspect was armed with a knife.
Unfortunately, I was unable to get the exact location of the crime.
However, police dispatch said both men were last seen running southbound through an alley on Clark Street.
I'm already holding back my $$ from this strip. I may reconsider if they can get their act together (i.e. put the PC stuff aside and cram those "parking tickets" up your a$$es too).
ReplyDeleteOn a Wednesday early eve. I was heading to an establishment at Roscoe/Clark. It's not busy out there. Passing Halsted two of them are going to try and block me on the sidewalk . They gave this sarcastic/menacing "Hi", like I was supposed to jump and walk around them (that weren't being coridal, trust me). I busted through. I'm no bad-a$$ but am not intimidated by black people as others in this area obviously are or they wouldn't be pulling this crap continually. Again, no bad-a** but it's going to take two of them and/or a gun to take a guy my size down.
Met some co-workers on Cornelia. They live there. There's a black guy hanging out near that fencing on the side of Little Jim's near that new restaurant's outdoor tables and shubbery. He's rather hidden. Just figured he's smoking a cigarette? Nope, hours later he's still there. Why?
I did see the cops had some people sitting on the sidewalk (one black/one white) issuing a ticket. Obviously for open intoxicants because there were beer cans sitting next to them. You're on to a start here! I haven't seen that obvious drug dealer lately that's been there since 2007 pacing from Cornelia to Roscoe and back.
REAL EASY HERE!!! UNLESS IT'S MARKET DAYS OR PRIDE FEST, THERE IS NO REASON WHATSOEVER FOR ANYONE TO BE HANGING OUT IN THE - SAME SPOT - ON THAT STRIP FOR MORE THAN 20 MINUTES MAX. LOITERING TICKETS? USE BULLHORNS TO GET THEM MOVING ALONG? SNOW PLOW? They can do it in Detroit. I don't know what the problem is here. Liberalism maybe? It's kickin' ya in the butt.
I would expect to at least be questioned if I just perched my butt on the guard rail outside 7-11 from 8pm-3am.
Seems to be more "for rent" signs on that street that I didn't notice before.
