Not surprised by this story at all. The postal carrier on my block frequently leaves her cart sitting on the sidewalk with mail and packages on top, just waiting to be stolen by a passerby. Luckily, she seems to take a day or 2 off every week, so I suppose that reduces the odds of stolen mail.
ReplyDeleteI cant wait until the job cuts hit the post office...
And they wonder why they are losing so much business. The USPS is a joke!
ReplyDeleteThe USPS is a joke - in Chicago! Not sure what the rating is now but you were known as having the worst mail service in the nation a while back. That Uptown post office needs to be shut down. One efficient person could serve the customers in the same time frame of their 7.
ReplyDeleteAn unusually high percentage of my customers never get my mail throughout this city. Never a late payment on my credit card I had since 1992 but suddenly late payment fees when I arrived here. In fancy Andersonville, the carriers idea of deliverying mail for 4 units was opening the building door and throwing it all on the floor.
I'll "go green" with my billing statements when there's credit on my bills for my time and printing supplies. If that happens, yes, we can do away with the USPS. I could fill a 13 gallon garbage bag per week with junk mail in this single person household.
I'd love to have me one of these gubment jobs here. Sure would.

ReplyDeleteI'm speechless!
This is yet another example of a great paying job held by people who hate their job and don't care. This isn't the first time I've heard about carriers just throwing mail into an entry way. Plus, they're on the job talking on their cell phones while walking or putting mail up. Pretty soon the USPS will fold because everyone will just go "green" and do everything by the internet.
ReplyDeleteall of you talking bad about the post office can kiss my ***
ReplyDeleteI am a mail carrier and im very offended by all these comments. I mean you don't understamd we deliver in rain, sleet, snow, storms whatever to bring you your mail. We have to deal with dogs mean customers and walk 10-20 blocks. We do our best to bring good service to you and this what we get. Trash talk wow.
