| Prince Watson charged with CTA death, robbery. |
17-year-old Prince Watson, who is currently serving time in jail for a previous infraction, has been charged with shoving 68-year-old Sally Katona-King down the stairs at the CTA Fullerton “L” stop at 947 West Fullerton Avenue, on March 28, 2011.
Katona-King died after Watson pushed her down the stairs, while trying to escape after stealing a Brown Line commuter’s iPhone, said police.
Investigators used DNA evidence, CTA surveillance footage, and eyewitness testimony to make their case against the Chicago teenager.
In addition to the charges stemming from the March 28th incident, Watson is already serving a 4-year sentence for a May 15, 2011 iPhone robbery at the Clark and Division Red Line station at 1200 North Clark Street, said police.
Police said Watson confessed to the crime.
Watson has also been charged with a similar robbery that occurred at the Sedgwick Brown Line Station at 1536 North Sedgwick Street.
That incident occurred on April 17, 2011. Watson has yet to be convicted of that crime.
The 17-year-old is due in court Thursday, August 11, 2011.
I am so glad to see arrests made in at least some of these crimes. Now, if the justice system would start slapping the maximum sentence on them, maybe we can keep some of these ghetto thugs OFF the streets for a long long time!

Uhmm...that MAN??? What the h*ll kind of man, or human for that matter, kills an older woman while stealing ANOTHER iphone and doesn't stop? He is a useless thief that clearly has no value for human life. He's a pathetic piece of scum that can not function in society. Maybe instead of ripping iphones off the working people in this world he could get a job and buy his own. Then maybe the poor woman would be alive. The greedy b*stard seriously had to steal ANOTHER one?? Like he couldn't have kept one of the other ones he had stolen before for himself? Repeat offender. Thief and MURDERER. Hope he is in for a long time.
