Car accident at Belmont and Lake Shore Drive; injuries reported


A car crash involving several vehicles was reported in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood around 6:44 a.m.

The accident occurred on the 3200 block of North Lake Shore Drive, near Lake Shore Drive and Belmont Avenue, said dispatch.

One report said three cars were involved. Another report indicated a car and a taxi cab collided.

Injuries were reported and several ambulances were rushed to the scene.

The extent of the injuries is unknown. 

According to authorities, eastbound traffic on Belmont at Lake Shore Drive, was temporarily blocked.

CTA officials were notified in case buses have to be rerouted.

    Way too many distractions when people are behind the wheel and way too few tickets being written for speeding, talking on cell phones and not being buckled up. Seems to me if the police just started issuing tickets for these things alone, this city would be in the black:)
