Edgewater: Man badly beaten, robbed near Broadway

A male robbery victim was found severely beaten and lying in a doorway in Chicago’s Edgewater community, said police.

A passerby found the injured man on the 1100 block of West Rosemont Avenue, around 7:27 p.m., and immediately called for help, said police.

According to investigators, the victim was attacked near the intersection of North Broadway and West Rosemont.

The offenders were described as two male blacks wearing black hooded sweatshirts and raggedy jeans.

The suspects were last seen running northbound through a nearby alley.

Citing an unconfirmed police dispatch report, the victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, in unknown condition.

Police are still looking for the assailants.

  3. It's just "transient youth" at it again. "These things just happen" too.

I hope they find them and give 'em a real hard spankin', a hot meal and place to stay over in Uptown, oops, I mean "Margate Park" - maybe next door to you.

I just wish one of these youth could walk down the street by themselves - just once. They're usually in packs of 3 to 5 in Lakeview. Never less than 2. Ever.
