Woman ‘shaken’ after strong-arm robbery in Boystown
A woman was left visibly upset after her purse was stolen in the Boystown, Lakeview neighborhood, said police.
Around 1:50 a.m., paramedics were attending to a female robbery victim at 3231 North Clark Street.
An officer at the scene said the woman wasn’t injured physically, but she was "shaken" by the experience.
20 minutes prior, around 1:30 a.m., two black male suspects snatched the woman’s purse on North Clark Street, said police.
When the female victim chased the offenders, the thieves dropped her purse and continued running southbound on Clark Street, said authorities.
The victim recovered her purse with all of her property still inside, said police.
Both suspects are approximately 6-feet-tall with a slim build, and in their thirties, said investigators.
One thief was wearing a yellow shirt with white stripes and the other offender was wearing a Cubs baseball team shirt.
If you witnessed this crime, please contact the police.

You go girl!
ReplyDeleteBlack male suspects. I find this shocking.
ReplyDeleteListening to the cops talk about how upset that woman was, broke my heart. A lot of people overlook the psychological scars left behind after a robbery or an assault.
ReplyDeleteThis is getting ridiculous. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
ReplyDeleteCops aren't willing to face the lawsuits, so it's up to the people. We're the ones who are suffering anyway.
I'm in Lakeview everyday. I work at a retail store that busts one of these guys almost everyday, but they still keep coming back.
I've seen a group of them walk in a shop with pepper spray and hammers, grab armloads of clothing, threaten the 2 small framed girls working, walk out, then get straight on the CTA Redline. I even ran a thief down on foot, waved down a cop (white shirt mind you), he had to close his laptop at a stop sign and put out his cigar before he rolled the window down. When I told him I was in pursuit and literally pointed to the guy headed to the train, the cop said, "just let it go, it's not worth getting hurt. Your boss isn't going to pay your hospital bills". After I told the cop it was my store and I wanted to prosecute, he said,"oh, um....do you want a ride back to the store?". **side note: An officer did come to the store because we wanted to fill out a report. When he got there, he said we didn't need to fill one out. He opened his cell, and walked around shopping.
I remember when the police got stuff done. Skull cracks and such.... now nothing. These are sad times in Chicago.
