Tunney smiles as critic calls him "out of touch". |
"Alderman, if you really believe that this is an isolated incident," said the speaker, in reference to the July 3rd stabbing in Boystown, "Then you are not only out of touch with your constituents... you are out of touch with reality," concluded the concerned citizen.
The speaker's comments were met with thunderous applause.
Obviously, a lot of people believe Tunney has dropped the ball when it comes to effectively and proactively addressing the violence in the Boystown, Lakeview community.
Question: Should Tom Tunney be kicked out of office?
You have to understand he is a liberal you liberals in Chicago just have to think of yourselves as yourselves a couple months back before the blacks started finally giving you all a taste of the tolerance beatings that have gone everywhere else but your north side paradise.
ReplyDeleteNow you guys are getting back the seeds you have sowed.... Remember you all as a whole don't care when blacks beat up whitey in massive numbers you all think whitey deserves it that's why your liberal friends are not coming to your rescue. Due to their poltics your politics they don't understand your concern just like you all fought so hard for blacks to be spread everywhere to spread the wealth as your god Obama would say.
Remember though there are issues which liberals care more about then black people. Like dogs, you liberals sees dogs more important then any black life. Think about Micheal Vick every racist baiter even Al Sharptoon went and called anyone who did not like Vick or wanted him arrested as racist.
You all proved then you were willing to over come your passioned feelings for black people to defend dogs over blacks.
Again no liberal will understand your hurt or feelings you have people raped and killed because they are white every day abd your liberal friends ignore it so pick another issue to get a come back at the black community or stop voting democrat.
Or you can have a white flight as your parents did move to the Suberbs and then go back feeling sorry for the poor....poor black people
Question: Should Tom Tunney be kicked out of office?
ReplyDeleteMost likely, death, resignation or indictment would kick Tunney out.
Where was "everyone", during the February 2011 Aldermanic Elections, when Tunney had no opposition?
He's a great alderman. Look around the City and tell me there aren't 35 wards that would love to be as nice as Lakeview. Is violence a growing problem in Lakeview, yes. It's a growing problem across the city. Up here in Uptown we have shootings on a regular basis. We got rid of our old Alderman and it has helped quite a bit to have a new Alderman who actually works with the police and not against them. But that is only part of the solution. The City is down over 3,000 police officers. Until that changes there are simply not enough bodies to do the job in a city this big.
ReplyDeleteUptown,
ReplyDeleteI don't think Tom Tunney had a hand in making Lakeview as nice as it is. The people who moved there when it was still called "Newtown" did that and Tunney wasn't even around then. He has turned a blind eye on the escalating crime for several years and now, it's getting out of control. That has a bearing on how that neighborhood moves forward and all the "PC" in the world will not change the criminal element. Of course we need more police officers on the streets for a city this size but until the Aldermen in all wards start proposing changes in loitering and panhandling laws, it will not change. That's what the Aldermen can do to help the LAW ABIDING citizens. Talk is cheap, lip service reigns supreme with our politicians and the CPD only has so many officers to help with this issue. CHANGE the LAWS! They ONLY benefit the criminals anyway.
The cheers and people talking (yelling) over the speaker made him hard to understand. I bet tunney didn't even hear half of his argument. That being said, tom looked pretty uncomfortable by the end. Maybe this will get something done...
ReplyDeleteI find it pretty frustrating that neighborhoods in this city have to get to the point that the criminal element becomes so bad that we, as a community, have to start screaming at the top of our lungs in order to get the people WE elected to hear US! Tom Tunney had to have seen this coming and simply turned a blind eye and a deaf ear UNTIL that video went viral. Look at the archives on this site alone, all the crimes the CNR was reporting in Lakeview/Boystown BEFORE the video. Where was Tom Tunney then? It seems to me, that at times, the ghetto thugs in this city get heard more often when they're screaming discrimination/racism/whoa is me, more often than the law abiding citizens. What the hell is wrong with this picture? Since when are goods and services a right of passage? These ghetto thugs, in ALL neighborhoods, are ADULTS NOT "youth" and yet the "youth" scream the loudest in Boystown wanting more and more and they contribute the least. The behavior NEEDS to change and swarming into a neighborhood because it's "diverse" and "accepting" means you don't go there and bring your childish asinine behavior with you! Some behavior modification goes a very long way. Having said that, it's the ADULT ghetto thugs that need some lessons on how to live in a civilized manner.
ReplyDeleteThe COH invited the world to Lakeview/Boystown and than just dropped them on everyones doorstep expecting the community to take care of them and frankly, I think the COH needs to take a look at their part in that. Add more programs that cater to the "youth", though I doubt they'll attend, add a program on how to make a resume, present yourself for a job interview and than how to get that job, though I doubt they'd be interested. Add a social night on the weekends, lord knows there's enough room. COH needs to step to the plate and do something instead of expecting the community to do it. After all, it was the community that gave Lakeview/Boystown that center.
Every. Single. Time. that I see Tunney out and about, he's with a group of 3 or 4 people and is visibly inebriated. He's obviously more interested in being recognized as "hey that's Tom Tunney over there!" than actually doing any work. He REALLY hasn't had much to deal with yet - Lakeview was already a great neighborhood when he came in to play. I doubt he will be effective in curbing the violence.
ReplyDeleteI suggest that white gays stop investing so much energy in chastising Christians, lobbying for same sex marriage, or worrying about homosexual discrimination and start to be slightly concerned with another group they belong to - the white race. The growing violence coming against whites is real and not a figment of any racist imagination. Gays have for years supported all liberal causes including forced integration and the anti-white violence is your reward - enjoy your marriage (it will be "open" right?) as our society crumbles.
ReplyDeleteWait until you realize Tunney isn't actually gay. Then he'll be really "out of touch with Boystown. No pun intended, LOL.
ReplyDeleteI think your "gaydar" needs some tweaking....
ReplyDelete"Wait until you realize Tunney isn't actually gay"
Towanda, you can keep Tom. Besides, your straight shot needs a better aim being the man -hater you are
ReplyDelete@Brahms 4:45 - I really hate to have to agree with you but your opinion has been on my mind for YEARS! I am more concerned about my welfare, safety, future as a White man than a gay one. I'll state this to those "human rights" people campaigning on the streets daily as well.
ReplyDeleteI don't consider myself party affiliated but these liberals here (Chicago in general) are in for one BIG wake-up call very soon, especially the gays.
So it is now July of 2013 and it is still going on Tunny is still in office and there is no salutation.
