Car accident in Calumet Heights - Robberies in West Englewood, Marquette Park


What police described as a “bad car accident”, was reported around 8:24 p.m. in the Calumet Heights, Pill Hill neighborhood.

According to police dispatch, the car crash occurred on the 9300 block of South Luella Avenue, near Luella and East 93rd Street.

911 received multiple calls reporting the incident and several police cars, as well as paramedics, were called to the scene.

The extent of the injuries and the cause of the accident, were not disclosed.

Robberies in West Englewood, Marquette Park

Robberies were reported in Chicago’s West Englewood and Marquette Park neighborhoods.

According to police, a man was robbed on the 7200 block of South Bell Avenue in West Englewood, around 8:33 p.m.

Three black male suspects, between the ages of 17 to 19-years-old, robbed the complainant, said police.

The offenders were last seen wearing white tank tops and dark colored shorts, said the victim.

Approximately 13 minutes later, around 8:46 p.m., another victim was robbed on the 3200 block of West 65th Place in Marquette Park, said authorities.

The victim said three black male suspects, between the ages of 16 to 18-years-old, displayed a semiautomatic handgun during the robbery.

Just like the offenders in West Englewood robbery, the suspects in the Marquette Park caper were wearing white tank tops, as well, said police.

The victim said the suspects fled the scene in a four-door Chevy Lumina.
