Car hits Uptown Target store


A 911 caller reported a car accident in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, around 5:30 a.m.

The complainant said a car hit a building at the corner of Broadway and Sunnyside.

Police confirmed that a vehicle ran into the Target store at 4466 North Broadway, shattering a plate glass window.

Employees were inside the store when the incident occurred, said police. 

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the car accident is under investigation.

  1. Don't people know how to drive anymore? An awful lot of hit & runs, buildings being run into and people blowing through yellow and even red lights lately.

  2. The flames were huge. It was almost like the seats were doused with gasoline or something flammable. I've never seen a car burn that fast before.
