Austin neighborhood: Shooting on Iowa Street


A man was injured in an early morning shooting on Chicago’s West Side.

Police said a man in his forties, was found shot in an alley on the 5100 block of West Iowa Street.

According to one source, the shooting victim was located in an alley behind 5120 North Iowa.

The injured man was shot in the left thigh and the bullet went “through and through”, said police.

The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition.

Preliminary reports indicate the shooter was riding a bike.
