2 shot in Northwest Side Irving Park neighborhood


Police have confirmed that at least two people were shot in Chicago’s Northwest Side, Irving Park community.

The shootings occurred on the 3700 block of West Montrose, near Montrose and Lawndale Avenues, around 9:30 p.m.

Investigators said the shooting took place on a back porch on the second floor. 

One victim, identified as a Hispanic man, was shot in the upper left chest and in his left arm, said police.

According to an officer at the scene, the bullet that struck the shooting victim’s arm, went “through and through”.

The details regarding the second gunshot victim’s injuries were not disclosed.

Witnesses said the shooter ran into an apartment building at 4405 North Lawndale, said police.

One victim was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital and the other patient was taken to Lutheran General, said authorities.

No further details are available.
