Woman carjacked, baby kidnapped


Around 4:33 a.m., a woman was carjacked on the 7100 block of South Calumet Avenue in Chicago’s Grand Crossing neighborhood, said police.

The thief or thieves stole the car with the woman’s baby still inside, said police.

The vehicle was described as a black, 2001, Hyundai Accent with temporary tags and a Tinker Bell license plate cover.

The hijacked car was last seen going southbound on Calumet Avenue.

Police said the 1-year-old, whose name is Jeremiah Simpson, was wearing brown pajamas.

The stolen car was found at 514 East 70th Street, at 6:44 a.m.

According to an officer at the scene, the baby was not harmed.

    I'm sorry, but the ONLY place ghetto thugs deserve to live is in prison, or maybe under some rock somewhere..

    I am so glad that baby is ok but why was that MOTHER out at 4:33 in the morning with a baby???

    Not sure, but having the baby out at 4:33am in brown pajamas is typical hood rat behavior... especially on the Southside! Nevertheless, despite the ghetto ass license plate, I wish the baby a safe return home to The Simpsons!
