The alleged crime was reported around 5:15 a.m.
According to authorities, the man planned to take two black men “home with him”, when the robbery occurred.
The victim was reportedly staying at the Days Inn Chicago at 644 West Diversey Parkway, near Diversey and Clark, said police.
It's unclear if the purported robbery occurred inside or outside the hotel.
