The suspects, who had been previously barred from the store, forcibly entered American Apparel at 929 West Belmont Avenue, said officials.
Once inside, the offenders stole $80 worth of merchandise and one of them attacked the store’s manager, said authorities.
The main suspect was identified as a 17 to 21-year-old black male with short, orange and blond hair. He was last seen wearing a pink and silver hat.
After the assault and robbery, the crooks fled westbound towards the Belmont “L” station, 949 West Belmont.

That ghetto thug shouldn't be hard to find and no surprise he headed for the "ghetto express"
ReplyDeleteI went by this place yesterday, in the afternoon, and noticed many shady looking people hanging around on Belmont. The loitering laws in this city favor the ghetto thugs and NEED to be changed. What the hell is the city waiting for? If the loitering laws are changed to FAVOR the business owners and innocent residents, they will have to move along rather than casing the store owners and citizens out before they strike.
I'm so sick of the human garage cluttering Lakeview I could friggin' scream! These people act like wild animals on steroids. I'm afraid to even get off the train at Belmont these days.
ReplyDelete"The main suspect... a 17 to 21-year-old black male with short, orange and blond hair... wearing a pink and silver hat".
ReplyDeleteWith all the police that be on Belmont... how the hell do your store get robbed by a ghetto Perez Hilton?
"With all the police that be on Belmont... how the hell do your store get robbed by a ghetto Perez Hilton?"
ReplyDeleteGhetto Perez Hilton?! Too funny!
So, if we start tackling the problem as it actually exists, somebody's gonna scream racism? Hmm.
ReplyDeleteTowanda, I agree, and asked the same question at a CAPS meeting in Edgewater. Loitering is not a crime, I was told because it targets minorities. But this law apparently has been on the books for years. The cops did tell the group to call if you see any loitering, say they are acting suspicious, and if available, cops will come by. Most they can do is ask what's up and try to get them to move along; it's not illegal to stand in a group on a corner...someone has to do something illegal. The other challenge is if cops are chasing loiterers, could divert their attn from more serious criminal acts. It's a no win. There are more and more days I want to say, I give up, and move to the country. I used to think my family was a bunch of racists, but I know understand why they moved from the city in the 60s.
ReplyDeleteTime to start carrying concealed weapons.
ReplyDeleteF the (ineffective) Law.
Mike P...I'm with you there!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Mike, and Towanda we discussed this last week about carry and conceal. I think we all need to join arms and start doing something about this. I just want to reiterate something else that was said last week. City officials are allowed to carry and conceal they also have people following them around for protection. The thugs that are involved in the muggins and the flash mobs are all carrying. We as law abiding, tax paying citizens are not allowed to protect ourselves. Let's think about this people and protect ourselves and our children.
ReplyDeletesimper,
ReplyDeleteThe elected powers that be, don't listen to the people who elected them. Several hundred elected politicians deciding what's best for several million? What's wrong with this picture? I agree we need laws but the current ban on guns ONLY affects the law abiding citizens of this city, NOT THE GHETTO THUGS. We say we need more police, they say it's covered. We say we want conceal carry, they say gun violence will go up. Their agenda is strictly for THEIR agenda, not what is best for the citizens. What is their solution on how we are to protect ourselves....just what I though, they don't have one. We're the sitting ducks out there, not them, so why do they need to conceal carry? They have all the protection they can get. Bring in the National Guard, they're paid by the federal government so it wouldn't cost the city a dime to add additional protection for a month or two to keep it's taxpaying, money spending, hard working citizens safe. What's the problem????
who are the gangbangers?
