Edgewater: Man beaten, robbed on Hollywood Ave.


Monday, June 20, 2011, around 11:46 p.m., a Chicago police officer spotted a male battery victim in Edgewater.

The injured man was found at 1040 West Hollywood, near Hollywood and Kenmore Avenues, said police.

The responding officer immediately requested an ambulance.

According to police dispatch, several black men and several Hispanic men, presumed to be in their thirties, beat and robbed the male victim.

The crime occurred at the intersection of Sheridan and Hollywood, said police.

The robbery victim was taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital, 4646 North Marine Drive, for medical treatment.

There was no indication any arrests were made.

  1. "several black men and several Hispanic men"....since when do blacks & hispanics team up? It's my understanding that hispanics/mexicans dislike black people. Unlike Tunney in Lakeview, our Alderman does not put up with this and get's on it pretty quickly. However, the community NEEDS to be the cops and the Aldermans eyes & ears...call 911! Wake up people! We have to help curb the crime in our neighborhoods! CALL 911! Heads up!
