The incident occurred on the 1200 block of West Norwood near Norwood and Broadway Streets.
The victim was sitting in his car when two black male offenders, one of them armed with a gun, demanded his cell phone, said authorities.
The suspects are believed to be 16 to 17-years-old.
One thief was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. The other culprit was wearing a black hat, a black shirt, and blue jeans.
At 12:14 a.m., an officer who previously asked a description of the offenders on Norwood, apprehended a suspect somewhere on Pratt Boulevard.
According to police dispatch, investigators recovered "proceeds and a weapon" from the suspect on Pratt.
However, It's unclear if that arrest is related to the robbery on Norwood Street, or a separate incident.
No further details are available.
Pretty nervy for 16-17 year olds to point guns at people and rob them under threat of death. Most kids of that age are playing around on skateboards and bicycles, one would think. Not these types, though.

After running this blog for the last 7 or 8 months, very little surprises me anymore.

There was a time when you'd see a group of "youths" on the street and you'd say to yourself, "Oh, it's just a bunch of kids". Those days are over.
It's the re-distributed CHA Section 8 vouchers. I wish they will get rid of them, it's destroying our neighborhoods. These animals don't deserve the privilege of living in a decent class neighborhood such as Edgewater.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you 100%. What a mess that created ALL over this city. Edgewater is a great community with a lot of community involvement. This crap starting to happen here is a direct result of dispersing the CHA/Sec8 scumbags into ALL the neighborhoods. All one has to do is look at what they have done to some of the areas on the south and west sides. GHETTO!
This is not because of society, it's because of the lack of parenting on the part of the "babies having babies". It's because they have no morals, conscience or knowledge of right from wrong. It's because the judicial system in this city gives way too many slaps on the wrist and it's because of the "code of silence." UNTIL the black community steps to the plate and starts ACTUALLY participating in their communities, doing something about ALL the illegitimate children and breaking that fricking code of silence, instead of MARCHING, nothing will change on the south & west sides.
