Man shot in Englewood drive-by shooting

Early Tuesday morning, while most productive citizens were sleeping, a 19-year-old man was shot during a drive-by in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood, said police.

At 3:58 a.m., a female officer reported shots fired in the vicinity of the 7200 block of South Morgan Street.

Another officer in the area heard seven to eight gunshots.

Seconds later, authorities found a shooting victim at 7150 South Halsted Street.

The victim could be heard screaming in agony over the police radio.

According to a responding officer, the victim, who was shot in the foot, said the shooting occurred on the 7200 block of South Green Street.

The victim also said the shooter jumped from the driver’s seat of a black SUV with his face covered.

During their investigation, officers stopped a black SUV in the area. One of the occupants in the vehicle was a female.

At the time of this report, it was unclear if an arrest was made.
