Edgewater Glen: Thieves lose bike during foot chase

Several teens are wanted for an attempted theft at a North Side, Edgewater Glen condo apartment building, according to police.

At 7:47 p.m., a resident at 6252 North Magnolia Avenue, near Magnolia and Rosemont, reported the crime.

According to police dispatch, the 911 caller said four black males in their late teens tried to steal a bike from his backyard.

One of the crooks was wearing a Derrick Rose jersey.

However, when the complainant gave chase, the thief riding the stolen bicycle lost his balance and took off on foot, leaving the bike behind, said authorities.

At the time of this report, the bandits were still at large.
