Cabdriver robbed at Evanston, IL gas station, crooks escape to Rogers Park
A cabdriver was robbed in a north Chicago suburb around 1:18 a.m.
The incident happened at a Marathon gas station at 555 West Howard Street, in Evanston, Illinois.
Two black male suspects were involved in the robbery, said police.
One offender is approximately 21-years-old, 5’7”, with a heavy build and a dark complexion. He was wearing a red and black, plaid or checkered shirt.
The second thief is about 18-years-old, thin, and also has a dark complexion. He was wearing a red and white, plaid or checkered shirt, and black jeans.
After the robbery, the suspects fled southbound on Clark Street from Howard Street, towards Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood.
It’s unclear if any weapons were used in the robbery.
At the time of this report, the thieves were still at large.

Awful lot of cab drivers being robbed around Evanston lately. They must be the new easy mark since they carry cash all the time. The south end of Evanston and the Howard st. area will NEVER change. It's always going to be dark and scary.
