Bomb scare: Suspicious package found at CTA bus stop

The Chicago Bomb and Arson Unit has been called to a CTA bus stop on the Near North Side.

A gray suitcase was left in the seating area of a bus shelter on the 800 block of North Clark Street, near Clark and Chicago Avenue, said police.

Aside from the fact that the suitcase was abandoned, it appears to be in good condition, said one source.

Bomb and Arson was notified around 9:20 a.m.

At the time of this report, there were no service delays or reroutes listed on CTA’s website.

At 9:40 a.m., additional officers were called to control the traffic at Chicago and Lasalle Boulevard, and Chicago and Chestnut Street.

If more details become available, this article will be updated accordingly.
