Moments after the fatal shooting, Chicago News Report broke the news that someone was shot near Lori's Pizzeria, 5153 North Broadway, around 2:19 a.m.
At the time, we were under the impression the shooting occurred outside the North Side restaurant... updated information from the Chicago Tribune states Alanis was shot inside the pizzeria.
"The boy was inside with his adult sister and her friend when a gunman standing on the sidewalk fired shots through the doorway," said the Tribune.
The 13-year-old boy was shot in the face and rushed to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he later died.
An unconfirmed, but reliable source, sent Chicago News Report this alleged photo of the victim throwing up gang signs.
However, because this information has not been confirmed, Chicago News Report makes no claim that this photo actually depicts Ivan Alanis.

It's really strange. You have to pass through one of those turnstyle things in there. I knew I didn't belong. Sumthin', sumthin' just wasn't right. There had to be a camera somewhere to capture the shooter, right? Flashing blue lights everywhere up there.

ReplyDeleteThe slum times is reporting the shooter was caught, it was some hispanic guy in his 20s. Apparently the male "friend" of the sister got into an argument with somebody in the store, and they came back and shot the place up.

Anyways, the restaurant got tagged with gang graffiti and the employees were told "NOT TO FUCK WIT DEM CANDLES WE SET UP"
I'm just perplexed at the rage in these "just transient yoofs". Where does this come from at such a young age? Harboring them in Uptown, Lakeview or Edgewater?
