Although police did not give the name of the store, my guess would be The North Face store. It seems to be a favorite among Michigan Avenue shoplifters.
The thief was described as a black man wearing a blue Comcast shirt and blue jeans.
Authorities did not say what the man tried to steal.
A few blocks south, a woman’s property was stolen while she was trying on clothes at a popular Chicago department store. The incident happened around 6:56 p.m.
The woman was trying on items at Filene’s Basement, 830 North Michigan Avenue, when someone walked off with her wallet, said police.
According to police dispatch reports, the store’s security guard had just “stepped away” when the theft occurred.
It isn’t clear if anyone witnessed the customer’s wallet being stolen.
Police are also looking for two black teenage girls who stole costume jewelry from a downtown store.
Authorities did not give the name of the store. However, the female shoplifters were last seen eastbound on Adams from State Street, around 6:59 p.m.
One female offender has brown curly hair and was last seen wearing a long cardigan sweater, that hung down to her thighs.
The second crook was wearing a black sweater and had blonde “hair”.
Another proud day for race relations in Chicago. Not.
ReplyDeleteWe should put police at every subway exit downtown. Anyone who is young and black and can't prove that they have money on them or a legitimate reason to be downtown, should be sent back to their perspective ghettos! Pronto!

"Can ya'll get me a samich, I'mma just need a samich!!!!!" has been in front of the fancy address you mentioned for at least 3 months without being checked once. The whole world sees this Chicago. Are you concerned?
ReplyDeleteIt's quite apparent the world (including Chicagoan's) come downtown for the entertainment and thrill of the chase rather than shopping.
Sometimes, it seems to me, the police turn a blind eye to this vagrancy. Michigan Ave, because of it's tourism, should NOT ALLOW these beggars and panhandlers on this street. Large groups of black teenagers should be checked! Sorry but they're only on Michigan Ave to steal from retail and the rest of us. How many times have ANY of you seen large groups of black teens with bags in their hands? DUH! Just because they have the right to be there doesn't mean they should be there. All one has to do is read this blog and see the facts staring right back in their faces. Hispanic Ghetto thugs and black ghetto thugs= nothing but trouble! Pathetic!
