‘South Shore High School student’ shot on the South Side

Around 8 p.m., police were notified that a teenage patient was being treated for a gunshot wound at a South Side Chicago hospital.

According to the victim, who was identified as a 17-year-old African-American boy, the shooting occurred on the 7900 block of South Saginaw Avenue, at the South Shore/South Chicago neighborhood border.

Based on police dispatch reports, the boy was shot in the ankle and was taken to South Shore Hospital in good condition.

When police canvassed the area where the shooting took place, they discovered a car at 7850 South Saginaw and a vehicle at 2660 West 79th Street, had their windows shattered by bullets.

One source said the shooting victim is a high school student at South Shore High School, and may have ties to a local gang.

  1. OMG BLACKS! It's always the blacks! Why are the blacks at fault for all of society's ills? Who caused the worst recession since the great depression? It was the blacks, that's who. Bankrupting our social network because they are all lazy!

    Wait, what's that you say? It was a lack of oversight of the big banks? And not black people, as a race?
