Delivery driver attacked with ‘stones’, robbed on NW Side

Several offenders savagely attacked and robbed a food delivery driver on Chicago’s Northwest Side.

The crime occurred around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of West Altgeld Street and North Springfield Avenue, which is approximately 2500 North Springfield Avenue.

The victim said several male blacks on bicycles attacked him with “stones” and robbed him.

One of the offenders hit the man the forehead, leaving a "large gash", said police.

At the time of this report, investigators were still trying to determine what caused the delivery driver's injuries.

It’s unclear how many suspects were involved in the mugging, but all of the offenders’ faces were covered with white t-shirts.

Police are investigating.
