Roscoe Village Jewel-Osco robbed at knifepoint

Police are investigating a bizarre, early morning robbery at a North Side grocery store.

Around 1:36 a.m., a man walked into the Jewel-Osco at 3400 North Western Avenue in the Roscoe Village neighborhood, and stole a bunch a flowers.

When store employees confronted the man, he brandished a knife, said police.

The offender was described as a white man wearing a plaid shirt.

The alleged knife-wielding suspect fled the scene southbound on Western Avenue in a red “Blazer” with an unknown license plate. His vehicle was last seen crossing the bridge at Western and Nelson Street.

No further details are available.

  1. "stole a bunch a flowers". This guy either has it bad for someone or needs to make up to that person. No money for flowers so he steals them using a knife? What a fool. Hopefully they'll catch him and he can work on his "horticulture" in prison as a gardner!

  2. Towanda, by now, you would think nothing surprises me; but stealing flowers at knifepoint is a new one!
