Police: Gang members try to run over pedestrian in West Rogers Park

A pedestrian was almost run over on Chicago's Far North Side and police say it was no accident.

At approximately 2 a.m., the driver of a navy blue Chrysler minivan, attempted to strike a person in a parking lot at the intersection of West Devon Avenue and North Leavitt Street.

Although police never gave an exact location, an unconfirmed source indicated the assault may have happen in the 7-Eleven parking lot at 2200 West Devon Avenue in West Rogers Park.

After interviewing the victim, police identified the driver, as well as the other male Hispanic occupants in the van, as Latin Kings.

Police are investigating.

    Why are these gangs still operating? The CPD knows who they are, where they live and what they do, why aren't they being shut down? The LK's have been around FOREVER and are nothing but trouble. More ghetto thugs with different skin. OMG..summer hasn't even started.

    It's a vicious cycle of ignorance that keeps street gangs going.

    When your parents are sub-marginal people and everyone you associate with is equally repugnant, it's unlikely you will grow up and do anything worthwhile with your life.

    What kind of losers are up at 2 a.m. trying to run people over in a parking lot?

    This is a warning to all gang bangers...
    They better pray, that i never become terminally ill. If i ever do, the first thing on my list is to get rid of all of them before i die!!!
    If you are a gang member, prepare to suffer the consequences. I am a gang bangers worst nightmare. Soon i will find out if i am terminally ill. Then the fate of gang members will be coming!
