A black man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with multicolored graphics on it and jeans, overpowered his female victim and took her iPhone, said investigators.
According to police dispatch reports, the thief is approximately 5’8”, eighteen to twenty-one-years-old, with a thin build.
After the robbery, the crook ran westbound on Barry Avenue to Clark Street. Meanwhile, the robbery victim escaped to the CVS Pharmacy at 3101 West Clark, where the police were called.
At 1:48 a.m., officers stopped a subject matching the muggers description at 3209 North Halsted Street. The victim was brought to the Halsted Street location to make a possible identification.
However, as of 2:10 a.m., it was unclear if an arrest was made.
I'm sure glad the woman is alright except for the absolute fear she has now. She gave a great description and the ghetto thugs was than easy to spot. That's the way do to it! I hope he ended up being arrested and I hope the judge doesn't just give him a "tap" on the hand and set his sorry ass free. We have an empty prison waiting for these ghetto thugs, let's start filling it up. What the hell are we waiting for???? Oh yeah, the criminal justice system to grow "some"...
