Man carjacked on Chicago’s West Side

A man was carjacked in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood early Wednesday morning, said police.

The vehicular hijacking occurred around 1 a.m., at the intersection of South Laramie Avenue and West Monroe Street.

According to Google Maps, the crime happened near the Family Dollar at 100 South Laramie Avenue.

A black man wearing dark-colored clothing, brandished an unknown weapon and took the victim’s vehicle.

The stolen car was described as a tan 2002 or 2003 Lincoln Town Car. The car has blue tinted headlights and bears the license plate L 6 1 0 4 4 3.

The car, which was last seen headed eastbound on Monroe, may be similar the vehicle in the photograph.
