'Gays' vs. 'gang members' in Chicago’s West Rogers Park neighborhood

Police were called to a Far North Side neighborhood to break up a disturbance between a group of unlikely rivals.

Around 7:45 p.m., a heated verbal confrontation erupted between a group of "gay men" and a couple of "gang members" on the 6400 block of North Albany Avenue in Chicago’s West Rogers Park community.

Here’s how one officer described the scene:

“Yeah, we have a group of gays… interior designers… fancy dressed guys versus gang bangers…”

It’s unclear what started the dispute, but while responding officers were trying to communicate with dispatch over the police radio, there was lots of yelling in the background.

According to one source, one of the “gay” men involved in the incident is being constantly harassed by gang members in the area. An officer escorted the man home and made sure he arrived safely.

It doesn't appear that any arrests were made.

  1. I have seen even "queens" kick punks asses. Good for them for not backing down and for letting these ghetto thugs know they can't have our streets!

  2. God save the Queen(s)! We add more value to the RP sh*thole than the gangbangers do.

  3. I'm just glad no one got hurt. Most of those gang banging cowards carry guns because they are not man enough to engage in hand-to-hand combat.

  4. well, everyone knows that if there's one thing gays are good at, it's man-on-man action!

  7. Why would gays and gang members be "unlikely rivals"? What could they possibly have in common? Are gang members gay? Are gays criminals that prey on their neighbors?

    Yes. That's what he said.
