Early Thursday morning, a thief assaulted a convenience store employee during a robbery on Chicago’s North Side.
The robbery occurred around 4:50 a.m. at the 7-Eleven at 3554 North Sheffield Avenue, near the corner of Sheffield and Addison in the Lakeview/Wrigleyville neighborhood.
A black man entered the store, threw hot liquid (presumably coffee) in the clerk’s face, and stole a handful of lottery tickets, said police.
The offender is approximately 5’8” and was last seen wearing a black cap and a brown scarf.
After the assault and robbery, the crook fled the scene southbound on Sheffield.
The severity of the clerks' injuries, if any, were not disclosed.
No arrest have been made.
Police are investigating.

That's pretty stupid, don't lottery tickets have to be activated by the cashier or they're no good? Dumb*bleep*
ReplyDeleteI don't know if the tickets have to be activated, but they do have serial numbers that can be traced back to the store that purchased them. :-)
ReplyDeleteProbably thought he'd get more from a scratch off than the register since they put money into the safe after the drawer reaches a certain amount...Good luck if he wins and tries to collect. Maybe there will be an arrest this time!
ReplyDeleteMaybe, the robber wanted scratch and sniff tickets. :)
