Chicago police scrambled to Union Station after a citizen reported a man with a gun.
Around 10:23 p.m., someone allegedly saw a man carrying a gun aboard a Megabus at 210 South Canal Street. According to police dispatch, the 911 caller saw the man place the gun in bag.
Police reportedly stopped the bus and spoke with the driver.
The driver allegedly told an investigating officer that he didn’t see anyone carrying a gun -- and the bus was allowed to continue on its route.
"How would the driver see the gun if it was in a bag?" asked an officer over the police radio.
It's unclear if police went back and searched the bus.
However, after the "person with a gun" call, there was an increased police presence at Union Station.
Now that's what I call REAL police work..NOT! Why didn't they search the passengers bags? It's real easy to carry weapons on buses and trains too. And the police presence around Union Station while the bus leaves the area? Brilliant, just brilliant!
ReplyDeleteTowanda, there are some brilliant Chicago police officers who break their necks trying to solve crimes and keep us safe. And then there are those who skate through the day, by halfway doing their jobs.
