Your Weekend Bar Report: Come Read What You Missed!

2:41 a.m.-- A bar fight at the intersection of Belmont and Central Avenues was reported to police. Additional Chicago police officers were asked to respond to the scene.

According to an Internet search, the closest bar to the intersection of Belmont and Central is a place called the Martini Club at 3124 North Central Avenue.

Police never gave the exact location of the brawl.

2:49 a.m. --- A disturbance was reported at 127 South State Street. The address belongs to a bar and restaurant called Beef and Brandy.

I'm not quite sure what was going on there, but there was a ton of police activity in the area. The unofficial word is, there was a physical confrontation in the business' lobby. Which is rather odd, since Beef and Brandy's website says the bar closes at 2 a.m.

3 a.m. -- Two offenders involved in an alleged crime at Moonshine, 1824 West Division Street, were arrested near the intersection of Division and Ashland.

I was never able to determine why the men were arrested.

3:46 a.m. -- A huge fight was reported at The Vibe, 14 East Kingsbury Street.

4:11 a.m. -- A woman dialed 911 after a bouncer at Evil Olive, 1551 West Division Avenue, allegedly punched her in the face.

4:16 a.m. -- Police were called to Nick's Uptown bar (4015 North Sheridan Road) after a customer was "repeatedly hit" by another patron. The offender was described as a white man.

4:39 a.m. --- An ambulance was rushed to 1431 West Lake Street, where a woman was left battered and bloodied after a bar fight at the Transit Nightclub

According to an officer at the scene, the woman was bleeding profusely from the face. The ambulance arrived at the club around 4:47 a.m.

5:04 a.m. -- Gunshots were reported at a bar near the intersection of West Grand and North Mango Avenues. The closest bar to that location is Grand Central Sports Bar at 5726 West Grand Avenue.

The shooter was described as a male Hispanic in a white hat and a black jacket. He was last seen running westbound on Grand.

5:21 a.m. -- Police were called to a Lakeview neighbor bar after a possibly intoxicated man allegedly tried to kick a door down at a dance club called Hydrate, 3458 North Halsted Street.

  1. WHAT! Only one incident in boystown? Still, they must make some pretty strong drinks there 'cuz there's seems to be more problems at that bar than the others.
