Police were called to a north side gay bar after a patron was accused of theft and assaulting the employees.

The incident was reported at 1:18 a.m. at Roscoe’s, 3356 North Halsted Street, near the intersection of Roscoe and Halsted.

Apparently, an African-American man was detained by Roscoe’s staff members after being accused of stealing.

Subsequent 911 calls indicated the suspect also assaulted the bar’s security.

It’s unclear what the man allegedly stole.

Around 1:30 a.m., police were summoned to the Ram book store at 3511 North Halsted Street, near the intersection of Brompton and Halsted.

Apparently, a customer, described as a 6-foot-2 white man with a tan, refused to leave after being ordered to exit the store.

Yesterday, February 3, 2011, around 6:14 p.m., an assault in progress was reported at the Lucky Horseshoe Lounge, 3169 North Halsted Street.

A White man in a plaid jacket allegedly threatened to attack several people at the bar.
