Man shot in South Side apartment building

Shortly after gunfire exploded in a South Side apartment building, neighbors heard the victim’s screams.

At 7:18 p.m., a man was shot at 258 - 260 West Marquette Road, near the intersection of Marquette Road and Yale Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered the injured victim lying on the hallway floor, surrounded by shell casings.

There were so many shell casings on the floor, particularly the stairs, officers were warned to watch their step.

The shooting victim was conscious and in good condition, said police.

A motive for the shooting and a description of the gunman, were not disclosed.

    Wow! This guy should be grateful the shooter didn't know how to shoot.

  2. Subsequent reports indicate the victim was shot in both legs. You are right - he is a very lucky man!
