Woman Robbed in West Rogers Park: Purse Snatched

At 2:12 a.m., a woman's purse was snatched on the 2200 block of West Morse Avenue in Chicago's West Rogers Park neighborhood. The crime happened near the intersection of Morse and Bell Avenues.

The offender is an African-American man last seen wearing all black clothing.

After the robbery, the suspect ran eastbound on Morse, then southbound on Bell.

According to police, the thief stole a brown 9 West purse containing a brown wallet and an iPhone.

  1. No wonder I'm not out that late anymore. When I used to be..so long ago..it wasn't this bad for sure,otherwise I wouldn't be here:) I'm glad the woman wasn't beaten, which seems to be the MO lately.

  2. WOW! I live on Morse at Hamilton and this is just nutty. It appears that there are alot of crimes taken place in the area lately. I do not even feel safe walking my pup. Thank goodness that the woman was not hurt. I wish all of our neighbors would become more involved in our community's safety.

  3. Anon, it's going to take a lot effort on the community's part to oust the troublemakers. But the police also need the resources to get the job done.
