At 2 a.m., a Chicago police officer reported a car accident near the intersection of West Fullerton and North Laramie Avenues in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood.
According to the officer, multiple cars were involved in the collision and several people were trapped in a smoking vehicle.
The officer made several urgent calls for more officers and firefighters to respond to the scene of the crash. A woman, presumably one of the trapped passengers, could be heard screaming in the background as the officer made the request over his police radio.
At 2:03 a.m., the trapped occupants were freed from their vehicle with the assistance of several Chicago police officers.
As of 2:31 a.m., no major injuries have been reported.

So what cause the accident? where they drunk?
ReplyDeleteAll the information I have is listed in the article.
ReplyDeleteI heard this happening as I was heading to bed. The police officer who saw this is actually the Commander of the 25th District. He had real panic in his voice, too, when he was calling for the ambulances/firetrucks. He's one of the best CPD officers out here if you ask me. And, he's got a really nice attitude. I met him at a roll call I helped organize during the summer and you could tell he cared about the community.
ReplyDeleteTimmy, you could tell he was REALLY concerned about the people who were trapped in that car. If he is everything you said, and I certainly trust your judgment, we need more officers like this Commander.
ReplyDeleteThe officer who was there was very nice but we also have to give credit to civilians who ran to help the injured, others were good samaritans and helped. Civilians with the one officer helped the teenagers that were in the truck which was flipped on it's right side. The truck was smoking, the kids were yelling for help, there was a pregnant girl in the truck which another civilian climbed on top and pulled her out and a police officer which arrived later helped pull her out. I know because I was one of the ones who asisted with my son. He saw the truck flip and the small red suv do a 180 on fullerton and laramie. Thank God no one was seriously injured.
ReplyDeleteThank you for adding that information and I am glad you were there to help!
