Brawl at CTA Belmont Station: Train Conductor Flees the Scene?

Starting at 2:11 a.m., I logged several Chicago police dispatch reports indicating a fight was taking place aboard a CTA train at the Lakeview Belmont “L” station, 949 West Belmont Avenue.

At 2:14 a.m., a 911 caller said the CTA train conductor got off the train, because the CTA employee feared for his or her safety.

Chicago police officers brought the situation under control by 2:16 a.m.

It’s unclear if any arrests were made.

  2. You have gun control in Chicago. This makes every law abiding citizen a sitting duck. The self-righteous in the guarded high-rises near the lake must be very proud of that fact.

  3. By the mid 1990s, CTA Conductors were gone. Presently, "we" have CTA Motormen. "The self-righteous in the guarded high-rises near the lake..." are also proud of fleeing "their" beaches, when thugs scare them away too.
