Joliet Father Shoots 12-Year-Old Son in the Head

Police arrested a 36-year-old Joliet, Illinois man after he allegedly shot his own son in the head. The shooting happened on December 20, 2010, around 5 p.m., at an apartment on the 1200 block of Cutter Avenue.

Police believe the shooting was intentional.

The 12-year-old shooting victim was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet - where he was listed in grave condition. I read the online reviews of Silver Cross Hospital and most of them were negative. So let's all keep our fingers crossed. Hopefully, this boy will get the best care possible.

After reading several news articles, very carefully, I realized that none of them stated the alleged shooter is the victim's biological father. Which raised a lot of red flags for me.

If the boy's "father" actually shot him, there is no way in hell this is the first time this man has behaved violently towards this child. And if that's the case, the victim's mother is just as guilty, as far I'm concerned.

We all know some people have no problem with putting their children in harm's way, as long a warm body is in their bed.

  1. Wow! This is horrible. It's like this so called father had a horse with a broken leg..not a human being. Who shoots a kid in the head intentionally? This twisted sick person probably treats animals better. And the mother? Wow! She should be held responsible as well..aiding and abetting. Another example of a child who fell through the cracks. What a sad story. It's too bad it takes so long for "what goes around comes around" to come back around.

  2. This article is false......I know this family, yes it was his biological father. Read more into it dummies, the mother struggled with the father trying to get the gun out of his hands. Sad how a news article like this can be released without the facts.

  3. What a tragedy! Some people should never have become parents in the first place. The sad thing is that we don't find this out until it's too late.

Please explain how this article is false. Are you telling me Roderick D. Tademy didn't shoot his son in the head? Are you claiming this is the first time Mr. Tademy behaved in a violent manner towards his family? If so, you need to spend more reading and less time jumping to illogical and conclusions.

According to updated news articles, 35-year-old Roderick D. Tademy has a history of mental health issues and violence towards his family. So, there is no way you can convince me the writing wasn't on the wall a long time ago.

As a parent, there is nothing more important than the safety of your children. Obedyah Tademy deserves at least one parent who puts his needs before theirs.
