At 2 a.m., a citizen reported a fire at a south side Woodlawn apartment building.
The 911 caller said the fire was at 6424 or 6450 South Champlain Avenue. The man wasn’t sure about the address. However, once police arrived on the scene, they established that the fire was at 6446 South Champlain Avenue.
The fire appeared to be coming from the first floor, said the police.
There were no displacements or injuries reported. Authorities said the building appeared to be empty.
According to one real estate website, the Fannie Mae owned property was built in 1898 and recently sold for $29,9000.00.
