Edgewater Woman Threatened by Man Who Asked to Carry Bags

According to one woman, a man on Chicago’s far north side went from polite to threatening, in a matter of seconds.

A woman called police after she was threatened by a man who asked to carry her bags. When she declined his offer, the man verbally assaulted her.

The incident occurred around 10:47 p.m., near the intersection of West Rosemont Avenue and North Winthrop Avenue, in Chicago’s Edgewater community.

The offender was described as a white man in his thirties, with long hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

    SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THESE AGGRESSIVE PANHANDLERS WHO THINK WE OWE THEM MONEY JUST BECAUSE THEY ASKED TO DO SOMETHING "FOR" US.

    TO THE PERSON ABOVE ME, YOU ARE RIGHT. IF SHE HAD LET HIM CARRY HER BAGS HE WOULD HAVE RUN OFF WITH THEM.
