19-year-old Timothy Herring Jr., a recent parolee, has been charged with the November 26th murders of 46-year-old Michael Flisk, a Chicago police evidence technician; and 44-year-old Stephen Peters, a retired Chicago Housing Authority police officer.
Police say Herring lives near the crime scene where both men were shot to death; which is on the 8100 block of South Burnham Avenue.
When the crime occurred, Herring was on parole for a 2007 armed robbery. He was released in September. Herring has been charged with first-degree murder and may face the death penalty.
This investigation was wrapped up pretty quickly. I certainly hope police have the right man, and good solid evidence.

I can tell you exactly what the cops did. The looks up every person with a record in the neighborhood and zeroed in on Herring when they learned he was on parole for armed robbery. I'd bet my last dollar that this man is not the real killer. They are rushing to close this case to save face!
ReplyDeleteGuess you didn't read the article "TruthTeller"..his girlfriend either helped him get rid of the gun or turned him in. Plus fingerprints. Sheesh, you should read and know the facts before you comment. Oh, and lets not forget the ankle bracelet that can track him. Yeah right, he's "not the real killer" my ass!
ReplyDeleteFrom Chicago Breaking News:
ReplyDeleteHerring, who lived across the alley from the Peters' home, was charged Monday in an unrelated shooting in June in addition to the fatal shooting of Flisk and Peters.
Physical evidence -- including ballistics evidence that tied the June shooting to the double murder -- has also been recovered, law-enforcement sources said. He was not charged earlier with the June shooting because the victim refused to cooperate and the investigation could not move forward, the sources said.
A second man, Timothy Willis, 22, was charged Monday with obstruction of justice and unlawful possession of a firearm. According to law-enforcement sources, Willis allegedly concealed the murder weapon from authorities in the days after the double homicide.
Neighbors said Herring lived with his grandfather. He was on electronic monitoring and had been ordered into substance-abuse counseling as a condition of his parole for the armed robbery conviction, according to state records.
He was arrested at the home Saturday evening.
Does that leave any doubt in your mind TruthTeller that that piece of scum is guilty? I hope not!
So "Truth Teller", you "can tell you exactly what the cops did"? Really? Seems you have no "truths" to tell us now. I suppose this guy was just another "good old boy from the neighborhood" right? He deserves nothing less than the Death Penalty. He's already WASTED taxpayer money several times for 3 squares. Why bother again? We are way too easy on these criminals. There should be NO time off for good behavior..period! "DO the crime Do the time". GOOD JOB CPD! Let's see, 75,000 gang members in this city, only 69,998 to go. Round them up and put them away. Bust every single one of them! Raid their homes and bust them for possession of an illegal weapon! Hey, how about that prison that isn't being used right now? Plenty of room for them all there! Think how safe and calm this city and all it's neighborhoods would be. And the parents of these teenagers? They should be held responsible as well...if you can find them. So sick of it!!!! No respect, no manners, no guilt and no shame. I, for one, don't think we need these bottom feeders!
ReplyDeleteIt's just sad that two people lost their lives over material things. True you are innocent until proven guilty but the ankle bracelet is pointing straight to him. Once proven without a shadow of doubt that this fool is guilty I would really appreciate not paying any more taxes keeping him alive!!
ReplyDeletetruth teller you are a rotten piece of shit. An honorable CPD lost his life so this low life timothy herring can live. hope to god he gets the death penalty or ass fucked everyday in jail. Herring has no morals. To shoot a police officer in the head and then to come back and shoot him in the head again to assure he is dead, that is just-loss for words. Take this animal and the rest of his low life family off the streets please.
ReplyDeleteBitch police be making dude take the fall fo somethin he ain't do. He be a honor-roll student and sheee. He momma say he be a nice boy on tv, know what I'm sayin? They be all planting on he fingerprints, and sheee. All the niggaz in Cook County jail be's all innocent and shit, know what I'm saying? And they be fittin on being released, and sheee.
ReplyDeleteBitch, are you stupid. First off, can you type a single paragraph without using ebonics? Get out of the hood and get some education for Christ’s sake! They had fingerprints matching those of Timothy Herring. His own girlfriend even busted his ass out. His friend tried concealing the weapon and he will get charged too. What the fuck more evidence do you need? Herring has previous charges which included attempted murder and burglary! Someone tell me why he was let out of jail to begin with. If someone has attempted murder that means he sure as hell will commit murder one day and that’s exactly what he did when he took two honorable lives last week. It is such a damn shame. Two respectable lives taken while this ape lives on-such a tragedy. Some people just want to deny that there “people” did this. Get the fuck outta here. How the fuck would you feel if your brother, son or father was killed? Then you see people commenting news blogs saying FREE THE CRIMINAL! FREE THE CRIMINAL EVEN THOUGH THERE IS EVIDENCE! What the fuck kind of world are you living in? Behind bars for life! FRY THAT BITCH! Throw his family in there too if they even think he is innocent. Naïve bastards. Throw him and the rest of that neighborhood and a few others on a remote island so they can kill each other. It offends me beyond belief that people are sticking up for Herring- Let me get my hands on any of you or Herring himself..oh boy
ReplyDeleteof course he was an honor student and a nice kid! Of course! PSH, every criminal is such a nice kid and an honor student. RIGHT! HA! Timothy Herring cut off his braids to try and evade arrest. Oh yah thats definitely not the actions of a guilty person. i second the remote island idea provided by jake!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on that too Jake. Hey, we could wall off the south & west sides from the rest of the city and let them rob, steal and kill each other. Get the good people out and let the thugs and bangers have at it. What a glorious day that would be. Oh and take the thugs and bottom feeders out of my neighborhood too. It's a shame these assholes are making MLK & RFK cry in their graves. They don't deserve the benefits of the civil rights movement and are making those accomplishments take steps backwards. Just FRY his sorry ass and be done with it. No appeals, just straight to the "chamber". The ACLU..who uses them the most?
ReplyDeleteSmh not once did they say in the report that the ankle bracelet tracked him and said he was where it was commited he does live in the house right by the crime sceen, and no where in the article did they say they had fingerprints, and like someone else said how did HE manage too kill two armed people. That's crazy people beleive any and everything they hear and see.
ReplyDeleteRemember how black people insisted OJ was innocent too?
ReplyDeleteBlack people in this city are at a critical stage -- they are spiraling further and further down a maelstrom of crime, murder, poverty, hopelessness, welfare, ignorance, fatherless children and a cripling self-percieved obligation to conform to the "thug" or "pimp" or "ho" self-imposed stereotype.
But instead of addressing these problems and taking personal responability, they deny, deny, deny that their entire culture is seriously tragic and self-destructive. The PO-lice framed this innocent boy! The MAN is holding us back! YOU are the problem. Listen carefully. YOU are the problem.
Fix it, or we shall have to invest in more prisons. That is perfectly fine with me. Or morgues.
