Cadillac Stolen After Owner Leaves Keys in His Car

A car was stolen, or practically given away, on the 6700 block of S. California Ave., in Chicago’s Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

Police say the crime occurred at a wireless/dollar store. When I researched the area for a better location, the only wireless store I could find was at 2790 West Marquette Rd.

Here’s what happened.

Around 1:32 p.m., a man left the keys in his “maroon colored Cadillac” and went inside the store in question. He exited the store just in time to see two African-American men driving away in his car. One of the alleged car thieves was sporting an Afro and had a light complexion.

Police caught up with the bandits at 6604 S. Talman Ave, where they unceremoniously ditched the Cadillac and fled on foot.

At the time of my report, at least one suspect was captured in an alley near 6650 S. Talman Ave.

And the moral of this story is....
