The Bible says, "spare the rod, spoil the child." But it wasn't a rod that got a 50-year-old Chicago grandmother charged with battery
Corliss Holland wanted to teach her 12-year-old grandson a lesson after he disobeyed her orders not to stray too far from home. After the teen left the block, Holland allegedly whipped the boy with an extension cord, leaving minor cuts on his legs, arms, and back.
Holland's husband is credited with calling the police on his somewhat strict, wife.
The power cord wielding granny's bail was set at $50,000.00. A judge ordered she have no contact with her grandson.
