9:26 pm -- Multiple calls regarding a disturbance on the 6300 block of South Wood Street, came in this evening. Reports of fights, a man with a gun, and criminal damage to a home, were called in by concerned citizens.
When Chicago police officers arrived on the scene, they didn’t see anyone with a gun, but there was definitely an altercation at that location. Apparently, the disturbance at 6300 South Wood Street was caused by a fight on the 6400 block of South Honore.
A 14-year-old girl was arrested and taken to 39th and California. No information on the charges were available.
At 9:37 pm, someone called 911 requesting to speak to a supervisor. The caller wanted to complain about the 14-year-old being “thrown to the ground” by police.
9:45 pm -- Another 911 call indicated that a new group of brawlers, armed with guns, sticks, and mace, were attempting to converge on the 6300 South Wood location. According to police on the scene, the group was gathering on the 6400 block of South Honoree, and planning to head to where the 14-year-old was arrested.
Eventually, officers were able to disburse the crowd.
