The vehicle, a white 2012 Audi with the license plate R834615, was last seen near the Edens Expressway, somewhere in the vicinity of Cicero and Touhy Avenues, around 1:47 p.m.
According to police communications, there was a 5-year-old white male in the backseat when the car was hijacked.
The offender was described as a black male in his 20s with an Afro.
The suspect, who was wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans, was possibly armed with a gun, said police.
At 2:19 p.m., authorities announced the stolen SUV and the abducted child were found in Skokie.
At the time of this report, it appeared the child was unharmed.
However, the offender was still at large and possibly looking for another victim.
