Cops thwart possible Gold Coast home invasion

The CPD foiled what could have been a potential home invasion in Chicago’s Gold Coast, Lincoln Park neighborhood.

At approximately 2 p.m., police were called to a home on the 1500 block of North Astor Street, between North Boulevard and Burton Place.

According to a preliminary report, several males, described as gypsies, exited a red construction truck and knocked on a woman’s door.

One suspect gave the woman a business card and another suspect took a photo of the woman, said police.

When the shady characters left the woman’s doorstep, she immediately dialed 911.

While officers were en route, updated information indicated the suspects returned to the woman’s home.

At 2:16 p.m., Chicago News Report received confirmation three males were taken into police custody.

At the time of this report, no additional information was available.
