Report: Attempted armed robbery at North Side park

Late Monday evening, police were investigating an attempted armed robbery in Chicago's Far North Side Rogers Park neighborhood.

The incident occurred at Pottawattomie Park, 7340 North Rogers Avenue, around 9:30 p.m., said officials.

Four black males, one of them armed with a black semi-automatic weapon, tried to rob a victim, said police.

At the time of this report, it was unclear why the muggers were unsuccessful.

Investigators said the gunman was wearing a red hooded sweat shirt and two of the gunman's accomplices fled the scene on bicycles.

Around 9:57 p.m., an officer in the area of Touhy and Greenview saw a black male wearing a red hoodie... the possible suspect was last headed southbound on Greenview.

No further details are available.

  1. Why haven't the gays been successful in 'gentrifying' this shithole? I mean they were so successful with Uptown and Edgewater, right?

  2. I live in Rogers Park on Sheridan Rd. I'm regretting moving back here. At least it's almost August. When my lease is up in May, I'm moving.
